Microgaming Announced New Android Air Mobile Platform

 Top online gaming software provider Microgaming has further expanded into the mobile realm following the launch last week of its Android Air app designed specifically for tablet PCs and smartphones using the Android operating system.
Microgaming revealed that Android Air is an Adobe Air-based application that initially features 8 casino titles while it has plans to deliver at least 20 more casino games before the end of this year.
"Much like Microgaming`s market-leading Viper casino software, new games will be automatically added via a process that is connection state aware so players can choose to do these updates via Wi-Fi rather than 3G," show a statement from Microgaming.
The company stated that Android Air games will be available "via a slick and user-friendly casino lobby" while it has also fully revamped its banking and registration modules. The firm declared that it has also updated the underlying architecture with connections now linking directly with the gaming server allowing players to utilise its suite of acquisition and retention tools such as Bonus Balance, Player Grouping, Communication Manager and Virtual Pit Boss.
"Mobile has been a key part of Microgaming`s strategy for the past few years and we already enjoy a strong market share with our existing suite of products," said Neill Whyte, Head of Product Channels for Isle of Man-based Microgaming.
"The explosion of mobile gaming over the last twelve months, which has been driven largely by the increased adoption of smartphones in developing countries, represents a huge opportunity for gaming providers."
